Dopo oltre 13 anni di attività,i 16 HORSEPOWER hanno annunciato da alcuni giorni,inaspettatamente,di aver messo la parola fine al proprio viaggio come band a causa di "un accumulo di differenze,
principalmente politiche e spirituali,che oggi ci separano e ci impediscono di andare avanti con onestà".

La Glitterhouse ha pubblicato proprio in questi giorni 16 HP,doppio DVD che racchiude la storia di questa band.

E' tuttavia confortante sapere che i membri del gruppo continueranno nei già avviati progetti Woven Hand e Lilium.

Dear All,

It is with some regrets but also with confidence that we, 16 Horsepower, have decided to end our journey as a band. We have shared some unforgettable moments and hope to have given you all we could. An accumulation of differences, mostly political and spiritual, separates us today and prevents us from honestly going any further. We will remain active as Lilium and Woven Hand. We stay available to you and welcome your comments and inquiries through our record labels or via e-mail.

Ecco il comunicato fatto circolare dalla Chemikal Underground, l'etichetta discografica indipendente creata e gestita dal gruppo
scozzese :

The Delgados,influential figures in Glasgow’s independent music scene for over 10 years, have announced that they are to amicably disband. The reason has been put down to the departure of their bass player Stewart Henderson who informed the band in the New Year that he did not wish to make another album.The Delgados have always been known as uniquely collaborative songwriters and as such, it was decided that the band could not continue without all of its original members.

The Delgados leave behind them 5 critically acclaimed albums including The Great Eastern, Hate and last year’s Universal Audio. Their two principal songwriters Emma Pollock and Alun Woodward will be pursuing individual projects and drummer Paul Savage will continue production duties at the band’s Chem19 Studios in Hamilton.

The four friends will continue to run their record label Chemikal Underground in this,its 10th Anniversary year, with releases scheduled for Malcolm Middleton,Mother & The Addicts and Arab Strap. They are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported The Delgados over the course of their career.
